Magaziners' range of Man-Up turret
trucks are an innovative solution
for order picking in very narrow
aisles. The equipment is can have a
minimum frame width of 1000mm and a
maximum lift height of 17m these
forklift trucks offer the optimum
space utilization. The 6 truck line
up can be adapted to customer
specific needs, with many different
operator consoles and cabin options.
Main Advantages
of Magaziner Very Narrow Aisle
Turret Machinery
1. More productive use of warehouse
space available
The picture above illustrates the
aisle width requirements for
counterbalance forklifts, reach
trucks and narrow aisle turret
machinery. The forklift requires an
aisle width of 4 metres, the reach
truck requires 2.9 metres, however
the turret machine will allow you to
operate in an aisle width of 1.8
metres. Across the multiple aisles
of a warehouse a narrow aisle system
minimises the storage of “fresh air”
making better use of the storage
space available to you.
2. Man rises with a pallet at all
times
The operators cabin rises with the
pallet, which is located on the
forks in front of him/her. When the
pallet in placed in position they
are right beside the rack in
question as opposed to a number of
metres below on the floor if they
were using a Reach or Forklift
truck. As a result the opportunity
for miscalculation and subsequent
damage to your palletized goods or
injury to your personnel is
significantly reduced. Due to this
design feature it is also possible
to use the machine to order pick
from any pallet position in the
warehouse.
3. Available Capacities/Heights
Magaziner Very Narrow Aisle machines
are available in a range of
capacities from 1100kg to 2000kg
this allows us to provide you with
the optimum solution for your height
and weight requirements. Our
machinery can also service racks up
to 16.5 metres.
4. Wire Guidance
The preferred form of guidance for
the machine when in the aisle is
referred to as wire guidance. A wire
is installed in the middle of each
aisle once the racking system is in
place. A frequency generator passes
an electronic signal along the wire,
which is picked up by a guidance
system on board the truck. Once the
machine enters the aisle it picks up
the signal from the wire, from this
point on the operator may only move
the machine forward/backwards and
up/down, it is possible to
simultaneously move
forward/backwards and up/down. An
added safety feature allows the
machine to firstly slow down and
then stop at the end of each aisle
or bottom wall. The wire guidance
system allows you to operate quickly
and safely while placing or removing
pallets and order picking.
5. Duplex/2 Stage Mast
As standard we prefer to supply our
customers with turret machinery with
2 stage masts. As only one joint
exists in the mast the amount of
swaying that the driver experiences
at height is minimized, extra
stiffening in the mast and bracing
back against the machine also
facilitates driver comfort. Where
low doors are an issue it is of
course possible to supply 3 stage
masts
6. 3 Point Stability
All Magaziner turret machines are
supplied with 3 wheels, 1 drive
wheel and 2 support load wheels.
Depending on the height requirement
it may be possible to operate on a
slightly reduced floor specification
due to this three point stability,
which many competitor machines
cannot operate on because the have 4
wheels. However the higher you wish
to operate the better the floor
surface needs to be. A superflat
floor is required for operation to
heights of 10 metres above 10 metres
a category 1 floor is required.
7. Transfer Aisle Requirement
The transfer aisle is the amount of
space required at the end of each
aisle to safely move the truck from
one aisle into another aisle.
Relative to the capacity of the
machine the Magaziner range of
machinery offers the operator a
reduced transfer aisle when compared
to the competition. The recommended
transfer aisle requirement for
Magaziner machines is 4.5 metres.
8. Serviceability & Reliability
Magaziner machines offer unrivalled
serviceability in terms of access to
the compartment where all of the
electronics and serviceable parts
are situated. All of the electronics
are easily accessible by way of a
fold out compartment. These design
features reduce the service costs
associated with this machinery over
its lifetime. The component parts
are protected by means of 6mm thick
steel doors preventing any
possibility of damage in case of a
collision. The reliability of the
machinery is unrivalled when
compared to the competition, a great
many of our customers successfully
operate entire warehouses with just
one machine experiencing minimal
down time. It is recommended that
machinery of this sort should be
serviced at 3 monthly intervals.
9. Options
All machines are
individually tailored to your
particular requirement and
application. Magaziner trucks can be
supplied in either AC or DC power
options at no cost difference
depending on your particular
preference. If your new warehouse
has an apex roof we can allow you to
safely place pallets into the apex
in addition to allowing you to
safely negotiate the lowest roof
point.
